STABAN Engineering
President
1992
- A
Beginning with packaging
STABAN Engineering
Corp. is located in Wallingford, Connecticut, centered in a large technical and manufacturing region. The company was
originally conceived as a packaging machinery manufacturer and
created in March of 1992. It
was incorporated shortly thereafter on
June 8th 1992.
The name of the company initially represented the first three letters of
the two owners last names. The original
owners are former employees of Kayat Engineering and Standard Knapp. Both
owners worked for each company while they were based in Connecticut from the
late 1970's through the late 1990's. STABAN
Engineering Corp. is a privately held corporation and operates under the laws of
the State of Connecticut. We now
design, manufacture, build and support packaging equipment and custom machinery
for nearly all industries.
1997
- Business
Change - to diversification
During
the summer of 1997 the company made a business decision to diversify in an effort to
broaden and increase the company sales base, thereby creating stability in the
annual sales. Custom non-packaging
machinery design and manufacturing was added. Engineering design, machine shop
and tooling plus assembly services were also added.
1999
- Ownership
& Employee Backgrounds
The
ownership has, over thirty years of experience in Engineering, Manufacturing,
Training and Service, acquired while working for other well known machinery
manufactures. Employee contributions on average provide an additional 20 years
per person experience and knowledge, some of them with the same former employers.
Together,
management and employees constitute a team of machinery experts, well equipped
to serve our customers needs, now and into the future.
2000
- Ownership
Change brings a NEW President & VP
On
February 11th, 2000, STABAN Engineering Corp. became a sole stockholder by the President & CEO. Although the company name remained the same, the meaning of the first 3 letters
was changed to Special Technologies & Automation.
2005
- Re-Focus on Packaging Machinery and our 4R's Program
At the end of 2004, STABAN had an increase in requests from customers
toward Refurbishing, Rebuilding and Remanufacturing. It seems the economy
has driven the packaging machinery customers toward the used machinery
market. Our sales for 2005 have been centered on the 4R's components of
the business. The customers are looking for less expensive alternatives to
new equipment and faster turn around times. Being flexible has kept
business up and we are looking toward a very productive 2005.
